Those 3 nights in June at Winterland were stellar....perhaps surpassed only by the 4-night run at the end of the year. My personal fave Dix Pix is 12/29/77 (featuring the ONLY China-Rider of 1977 and a damn good one.)

To me, nothing surpasses 1977 in terms of precision AND rocking AND overall "just-exactly perfectness". Today's Cornell anniversarys how is as good a representation of the exquisiteness of 1977 as any show, even if it's not my personal favorite (it falls in the Top 10, however, mostly on the strength of the DEW alone.)

Ah--happy to know June was good (sorta "har, har"), and I think you've talked to me about Dec/DP before, so I was excluding that from the "either side of May" biz I was getting at (ie, did they play consistently GREAT all spring, or just May, etc., was what I was wondering about). Guess you answered in part, since I take your word as a 77 EXPERT.

Thanks, G; hope things are well though you haven't been around as much lately...
